You can create a Standard Business Profile for A2P 10DLC by navigating to the Phone Setup page in the left hand menu, and choosing the Business Profile tab (follow the red exclamation points). The option to create a Standard Business Profile will be in the bottom left hand corner of the page. Please note, you will need an EIN (Employment Identification Number) to register. You cannot use a Social Security number as it requires an Employment Identification Number specifically. For each business profile submission, The Campaign Registry charges a one-time fee of $44 that we pass onto users at no additional cost.
If your Standard Business Profile is rejected, please email support@ringy.com the EIN confirmation letter from the IRS so we can open a ticket on your behalf with The Campaign Registry to approve everything on the backend and prevent another $44 charge.
In the event your business profile is approved, your outbound calls will now receive the highest SHAKEN/STIR attestation, which can present a trust indicator, like "Caller Verified" to your recipients' phones. This helps reduce the risk of your phone numbers displaying as "Scam Likely."
Ringy has no control over the business profile review process. We provide the opportunity to register for A2P 10DLC within Ringy so we can help in the event business profiles are rejected, and to try and make it as easy as possible for you. The Campaign Registry is the company that is specifically in charge of reviewing business profiles for approval. If your EIN is brand new, we recommend waiting at least 2 weeks since it was given to create a Standard Business Profile. This is because when the EIN is brand new, it has yet to appear on the global records The Campaign Registry uses to verify brands with, and could be rejected for this reason.
Once your business profile is approved, you will find an additional section labeled "Branded Calling" in the Phone Setup page located in the left hand menu, under the Business Profile tab. Branded calling allows you to change what's displayed on the caller ID when you call your leads. Simply enter a caller display name you'd like to use and submit it for review. Please note that the review process can take up to 72 hours and is conducted by our telecom provider. After approval, you'll be able to select the phone numbers you'd like to attach to this caller display name from the Phone Numbers tab.
Please follow these next steps to create an A2P Campaign after your Standard Business Profile is approved. A verified A2P Campaign is required to send text messages using local numbers. Starting September 1, 2023, Ringy accounts not fully registered with A2P 10DLC will no longer be able to send text messages from local phone numbers. You can still receive text messages, and utilize phone lines for inbound as well as outbound calls regardless of your account's registration status.
1. Select Create A2P Campaign under the Business Profile tab in the Phone Setup page.
2. Fill out the following information. When prompted to select your Use Case, we would suggest selecting the "Mixed use cases" option or "Low Volume Mixed" depending on how many texts you send daily. You will experience a delivery delay when sending text messages under the "Low Volume Mixed" option and is not recommended if you plan on having other agents join your business profile.
3. It will ask you to paste in 2 sample text messages, which we will provide examples of during this step you can use. Be sure your sample text messages include opt out verbiage, and also the legal business name you entered that is associated with your Business Profile.
4. Describe your "call-to-action" (how your customers opt-in to receive text messages from you). You can click on the examples to populate as applicable. The Campaign Registry needs to make sure everything matches the legal business name associated with the Business Profile, and that leads are clearly opting into being contacted by that exact legal business name on a website. That website is necessary to include in this section.
5. Once you have created the A2P Campaign, it will be pending verification. This verification process is handled manually by live agents at The Campaign Registry and can take several weeks. Please let us know if it fails verification. Once verified, you will be fully registered with A2P 10DLC.
Please note, if you still see the red exclamation mark on the Phone Setup page in the left hand menu as well as on the Business Profile tab, this means you are still not fully registered.
You will also want to register your phone numbers with FirstOrion so T-Mobile knows who you are. Registering is free and easy, and you can do so here: https://portal.firstorion.com/app/landing/#/signup.
After registering your phone numbers with FirstOrion, you should then register your phone numbers with Hiya so that AT&T knows who you are. Like FirstOrion, Hiya is free of charge and makes it easy to register. You can register with Hiya here: https://hiyahelp.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new.
Just like Hiya and FirstOrion, here is the Verizon registration option, which is free and easy to register with: https://www.voicespamfeedback.com/vsf/
Please note, if you swap out your Ringy phone numbers, you will need to update these sites. Once you register your phone numbers with FirstOrion and Hiya, please wait 1-3 days before verifying your phone numbers no longer show as spam likely.
